Dave and I received notice two days ago that we will have to move out of our beloved flat within the next two months.
I was devastated because I truly love this place and having moved in here less than a year ago, we weren't looking at moving out any time soon!

I've spent the last two days calling up Estate agents and trying to book some viewings for tomorrow as I will be off to Bologna next week and not be able to search for new flats.

The bad news is that there is nothing for the price we pay at the moment that comes close to what we have. We are looking at either moving further away from Richmond, getting a smaller place or paying much more...

The good news is that I have been looking at some surrounding areas which are still in walking distance to Richmond...
I've now booked 9 viewings for tomorrow, starting at 9.49am and ending at 4.30pm... long day...sigh
I will definitely let you know how it's going and as you can imagine there will be lots of before & after posts coming... watch this space ;-)

On Sunday I will have to pack as I will be off to the Children's bookfair in Bologna for a week.

Below is one of the places we will have a look at. What do you think?

  1. Oh what awful news Nadine! I hope that your flat hunt goes well today and the pics above are gorgeous, I hope it turns out that this flat wins your heart and the decision is an easy one. Best of luck lovely girl and have my fingers crossed you find something fabulous ~ Tina xx

  2. Oh Nadine...what a bugger!!
The joys of renting eh? I love love love the place you have pictured is SO SO you..I am excited for you already and I know you havent viewed it as yet..but I will have my fingers and toes crossed for you.
For us to rent something like that here...would be very expensive least around $500-$550 pw...its insane!
Good luck with your trip to Bologna..I hope it all goes well x

  3. nice place... hope it all turns out well for you!

  4. Hi Nadine,

This is indeed such a shame to have to move out. These photos are great. Seems to be a good place. And new place means decoration to redo!

Have fun in Bologna, I've been there, it's a great town.

    Good luck to you

  5. Seems to me that you can make a beautiful home.
    I really like the windows.
    Good luck!!
Sure to be a new stage much better ;)

  6. Oh drat, sorry you are going through the inconvenience. The home you photographed looks very live-able, I adore the huge bay windows! The nice thing about moving is that you can de-clutter and get a fresh start.

Best of luck, and keep us posted :)

  7. Hi Nadine! Don't be upset. You will find a good place and you will make it a home in no time! Just look at your first possible house: it's fabulous, all that light, that awesome bay window, the kitchen is small but with a couple of personal touches it will be cozy. So, I'm sure this is an opportunity more than a setback. Don't forget to take your camera and we'll help you decide!!

    Happy house hunting to you!

  8. TAKE IT! It looks great. Such charm!
