Before & After: My desk

I have finally finished my desk today and I think it looks brilliant! I gave it a bit of a distressed look so it doesn't look like it has just been painted but looks a bit old and used. I didn't want to go over the top with the distressed look because I was worried it would look fake or tacky. So I only roughed up the corners where the colour would be most likely to come off over the years. I'm really really chuffed with the outcome!

Before

After

But now I have a dilemma. There are two spaces where I could put the desk. The first one is in the corner of the licing room. It's a very cosy corner with a cute picture on the wall and the desk fits in nicely there.
The other option is in the living room by the window. That space is brighter and the desk looks really bright and gorgeous there.
What do you think?

Option 1

Option 2

I can't stop staring at it. Does that happen to you as well when you've got something new that you really like and you need to keep looking at it? The lamp on there is a bit too big. I need to get a proper desk lamp but until then this one will have to do.

Please let me know what you prefer. I tend towards option 2 but would be great to know what you think.

Looking forward to it!

Have a nice Sunday.

Nadine

  2. WELL DONE, it looks so gorgeous! You see I prefer Option 1. It looks great under the picture, and it's not against a radiator, as it would be in Option 2. xx

  4. Thanks so much for the comments. Although I do prefer option 2 as well I think I might move the desk into the corner so that I have more space for my little dining table by the window. I also miss looking at the cricket field while having breakfast. ;-)

  6. Hi Nadine!! Have not visited you in a while. Have been busy. I love option 2. Love the sunlight there next to the desk but you would know best as there will be many other considerations to look into.
